# What Love Burn allows: art at the camp, the truck, power, ground

Read from Love Burn's own pages on September 30, 2026 (ticket questions,
survival guide, conduct and schedule page, DMV, theme camp pages). These are
the published rules; placement and the Art Committee decide the specific
case, and nothing here is an offer. Some schedule lines on the conduct page
still carry 2023 dates; the 2027 builder day is Wednesday, February 10 per
the ticket page and the art form.

## Art at your own theme camp: yes, by design

The art form asks for a theme camp affiliation and says that an artist with
more than ten campers should also file a theme camp application "so that
your art support camp gets reserved". It also asks what to do with the art
if the camp is denied. So an installation placed at the artist's camp is a
normal configuration, not an exception; placement reserves the camp with the
art in mind. Theme camps may enter on the builder day without extra
permission, and camps must remove all structures by the day after the event.

## The truck at the camp: possible with a pass, parked for the duration

*Decision, October 1, 2026: the truck at the camp is a stretch goal and is
not in the 2027 application; the truck is transport only. The research
below stays for when it is.*

- Every vehicle needs a parking pass, and general cars park at Miami Marine
Stadium with a shuttle; vehicles are towed to D-Lot otherwise.
- A vehicle that stays on site is an RV in Love Burn's vocabulary: "if you
want to sleep in your regular sized vehicle, you MUST apply for an RV
pass", and "RV equals any vehicle longer than a standard car, SUV, minivan
or pickup truck", which puts a pickup at the car-sleeper tier. The 2027
price for "Camping Vans and Car Sleepers under 24 feet" is $195 plus tax
and fees; there are limited passes, no hookups and no power for RVs.
- No vehicle may enter or leave the venue during celebration hours, and
unmutated vehicles may not drive around the event; a stationary truck at a
camp is not a mutant vehicle and needs no DMV tag as long as it does not
  move during the event.
- The art form has its own fields for "Vehicle Parking Passes (Art Builder
Cars Only)" and "Large Vehicle Passes (RVs, Moving Trucks, Trailers for
  Art Build Only)".

So the honest ask is: the truck arrives on the builder day, parks at the
camp as scenery and transport, stays put until exodus, and the application
requests one art-builder parking pass plus the car-sleeper pass if the truck
is to remain in camp. Placement may say the truck goes to Marine Stadium;
the fallback is already written (hand-carry, nothing changes in the show).

## Aerial and suspended art: allowed, through the event's permit

Nothing published forbids hanging art, and the form itself names two
precedents while explaining when a structure goes on the event building
permit: "any structure requiring temporary ballast or anchor (ex - Sky Bar,
Incendia)" and "structures which participants can obviously walk up on top
of as a part of the art's interactivity (ex - Sky Bar, Sonic Sphere)". Sky
Bar is a rigged tower that Love Burn's own coverage describes as a rig
"offering breath-taking views of the event and the Miami skyline". Sonic
Sphere, the spherical concert hall, played Love Burn Miami in 2022 and 2023
as its KA10 build, a geodesic-inspired sphere whose central circular truss
was "secured with 4 vertical trusses from ground level", with people inside
it. Both are far larger and more loaded than a 2.5 m moon on an aerial rig,
and both were accommodated.

The route, in the form's own words: answer the permit question honestly,
"DO NOT APPLY FOR A PERMIT" yourself, and the event contacts you; building
code compliance "is not optional", and "if in doubt, answer YES". Hence our
"Unsure" with the explanation, and the landed version as the no-rig
alternative. Trees remain off the table without the event's written say-so
because the conduct policy forbids damaging flora.

## Power

"Limited Power is provided throughout the event through generators"; bring
long, labelled, outdoor-rated cords. The art form says power is extremely
limited, not guaranteed, and counted as part of the proposal's cost, and
that personal generators under 5,000 W are allowed. Our plan: one 20 A
circuit requested, generator fallback at our cost.

## Ground, stakes and the park

- The survival guide's packing list includes full-size rebar tent stakes
and a mallet, so tent-class staking is normal on this site. The art form
separately treats "any structure requiring temporary ballast or anchor" as
a permit trigger, which is why our rig uses sandbags and we answered
  "Unsure" with an explanation.
- The conduct policy forbids digging, felling trees or limbs, moving or
damaging park infrastructure, diverting ocean water and interfering with
beach life. That rules out tree rigging without the event's written say-so
and anything in the water, and it is why the triangle basket and the
lander legs carry their own weight on pads.
- Clothing-optional zones and all other park rules apply around the art.

## Not fire, but there are policies

Love Burn has Sound, Laser, Fire and Service Animal policies "whether stated
or hereinafter created". The hazer is not a flame effect; the speaker is low
level ambient, which the sound policy will govern; no lasers. Animals are
not allowed at the venue except service dogs.

## What this changes in the application

Theme Camp Affiliation names the camp and says the art sits in its art
support area beside the parked truck; Vehicle Parking Passes stays at 1 and
the car-sleeper pass is noted as applied for separately; Where to place
names the camp first and standalone second; Logistics says the truck stays
parked at camp if placement allows, else Marine Stadium and hand-carry.
